Installing a Skin

Starting with Yiffalicious 0.7.1 users are able to install custom skins.

Custom skins are stored under a series of folders located in ‘%appdata%\yiffalicious\custom\textures’

Custom skin folders are laid out in the following structure:

- character_name + - body part + - numeric slot index (0 based) + - Mesh (or meshes) + - _MainTex.png + - _MainTex_Patch.png (for herm/futa)

These folders are generated automatically as you instance a character in the game.

Downloading models

You can download the models from the download page.

Creating a skin

A skin currently consists of the _MainTex.png (and optionally a _MainTex_Patch.png) that are used as the main albedo (base color) texture for the in game models. note: replacing normal/bump maps are not currently supported

To make skin authoring easier, static models and a default skin are provided via the ‘characters’ tab on the patron download page.

Editing a skin texture

Any graphics application will let you edit the flat UV map, however applications like Substance Painter (not free) or Blender (free) will let you edit and preview the uv map on the model.

Patch textures

The _MainTex_patch texture is used or herm/futa characters. This texture is overlaid on the _MainTex to skin parts of the mesh that do not exist in the non herm/futa model.

Tutorials

Previewing a skin

To test out a skin you can manually drag it to the correct folder under ‘%appdata%\yiffalicious\custom\textures’ or use jei3’s live skin dropper. If you want to leave Yiffalicious running while you edit and update skin textures you can refresh the in game skins using the F5 key.

Publishing a skin

You can publish your skins in the Forum.

It is recommended, but not required, that you provide a ZIP file compatible with jei3’s skin manager, this will make installing the skin much easier for the end user. See Jei3’s SkinManager Skin Format for more info.

Installing a Skin

To install a skin manually:

  • place the _MainTex.png of the skin you want to install into the appropriate folder in «%appdata%\yiffalicious\custom\textures» (e.g. «C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\yiffalicious\custom\textures\character_charlotte\Body\0\CharlotteBody»)
    Note: for characters with multiple meshes (e.g. ilinir and fraenir), you may need to copy multiple textures into multiple folders.

Alternatively, if you downloaded a ZIP file that follows the format for Jei3’s Skin Manager

  • Drag the ZIP into the right hand panel of the Skin Manager to add it to the skin DB
  • Drag the Skin on the character slot on the left side of the Skin Manager you want it installed to

Skins

A Skin is a collection of saved preferences (like colors, fonts etc) which may be assigned to your client. Skin definitions are identified by an ID with a format similar to «5d97d370a6e3c9694b10f0db3b50c122».

Adding Skins

These are the steps needed to create a skin for Mibbit.

For the Widget

  1. Open the Widget-Manager in a new tab or window (right-click) to create/edit your special widget skin
  2. Fill username, password etc in «Create your chat widget» (and remember them!), click [Create an account]
  3. Enter your email address etc in «My Account» (in case you forget your pw we can send it there)
  4. Open the «Settings» page, edit server and #channel and copy & paste the created code into your webpage (see iframe or popup)
  5. Optionally click the «Skins» link and load an external skin (an example or from another widget id, the main client uses a different database)
  6. Open the «Preferences» page and modify colours and other settings, click [Save all changes] (no need to reload the manager)
  7. Open or reload your widget to see the effect of your changes

Make sure that if you publish it, not to have any private info in it (like a password in an alias)!

For the main/full blown Client

  1. Go to http://chat.mibbit.com/
  2. Create an account or Login (if you have not done so already)
  3. Open the «Prefs» page
  4. Modify colors and other settings to your liking.
  5. Click the «Save and Close» button.

Tools

Any tools that are useful for creating a customized skin shall be listed here.

List of Skins

Note: Don’t use those setting IDs directly on your page, create your own account and import the skin you like instead. Otherwise you won’t have control over it (special aliases, later changes etc.)

Feel free to add your own skins to this list. Just make sure that they are different enough these skins below. Please keep the list alphabetized. Note: at the moment main and widget use different databases (will perhaps be merged later).

Проблемы с модулем skins для VIP

    Здравствуйте, уже есть одна тема с проблемами при скачивании файлов с сервера, первую уже сам решил, но данную как то видно не смогу.
    Дело в общем-то, в том, что я скачал модуль для вип «skins 1.0.5» для него я установил серверные модели для игроков, по путям раскидал, пути в загрузке прописал, в файле skins сделал настройку в файле groups.ini тоже самое, сделал параметр «Skins» «all» (В випке должны быть доступны сразу все скины, что там есть) нигде ничего не пропустил, все работает, кроме скинов.
    Ну и сама проблема то. Захожу в вип, вкладка со скинами работает, и даже заходит туда (без параметра эта вкладка была попросту недоступна) ну и на последок при входе в меню скинов там нет вовсе.. Просто пишет, что нет скинов для выбора..
    Забыл прикрепить файлы модуля

    File поменял с ini на txt, сайт не пропускает ini..
