Editing the ucp.php?mode=register
Post by OsamaBigLag » Thu Apr 24, 2014 8:56 pm
Hello. I would like to edit/add new text into the register, without removing any of the original text.
I would like if you would show me how to edit the «Please note that you will need to enter. «»
But if that isn’t available fell free to show me which text I can edit or which text I can add. Thank you in advance

'UCP_EMAIL_ACTIVATE' => 'Please note that you will need to enter a valid e-mail address before your account is activated. You will receive an e-mail at the address you provide that contains an account activation link.',
Do not change the key ‘UCP_EMAIL_ACTIVATE’ . The other text can be altered, but you need to maintain the opening ‘ and closing ‘,
Make sure you are only using a proper plain text editor to work on files, see Tools needed to set up and customise phpBB, using an inappropriate editor will lead to problems. Text files should be saved with the encoding UTF-8 without BOM.

[How to] change the ucp.php to redirect to login.
Post by hobbylasers » Tue Jan 24, 2017 10:43 pm
Please visit the following link in order to activate your account:
ucp.php?mode=activate&u=64&k=somekey
After the user clicks the link he is taken to ucp page, then after some delay redirected to the index page.
I find this a bit messy and wonder what would need to change in the ucp.php to redirect to the login page instead which would be the next logical place to head for. It could be god to have an ability to route the new user to a custom first time login page which welcomes the user, has some nice messages and the usual login options.
I think this is the part which would need to change for the re-direct but no idea how to do it..
case 'activate': $module->load('ucp', 'activate'); $module->display($user->lang['UCP_ACTIVATE']); redirect(append_sid("index.$phpEx")); break;

There is no login.php file. Can you explain what changes you want to the login screen and the registration page? There is probably an easier way to do it.
I can stop all your spam. I can upgrade or update your Board. PM or email me. (Paid support)

I want to inlcude the ffg in the login page, maybe before the Register part:
«Your user name and your e-mail will not be sold to online marketers»
I am also keen to inlcude the ffg in the register page:
Your account will at a bare minimum contain a uniquely identifiable name (hereinafter your user name), a personal password used for logging into your account (hereinafter your password) and a personal, valid e-mail address (hereinafter your e-mail).
Your password is ciphered (a one-way hash) so that it is secure. However, it is recommended that you do not reuse the same password across a number of different websites.
Any suggestions are most welcome,
thanks, Ishvir
